I would like to extend a huge Tumblr welcome to Julia, one of my oldest and dearest friends from grad school.  She and her husband and their newly 3-year-old son recently moved to Georgia where she was hired to teach art history full-time at a University.  Not only is this an extremely coveted opportunity for a young academic, but she was awarded the teaching position before receiving her PhD!  I’m so proud of her and I know it’s only a matter of time before she puts the finishing touches on her dissertation (the subject matter is ancient Roman cameos if you must know).
